Really enjoy your writing (my introduction to it was when I added Hunt, Gather, Cook to my kitchen bookshelf). Here in Vermont we just got one of the larger snow storms of the year, but even so, it definitely feels like spring is around the corner.

Felt this one pretty deep. Like others have said I’m also trying to get out of a very long personal winter and am just maybe starting to see signs of life in myself again. Always look forward to your posts.

I love this. As someone who is entering a year of quasi homelessness, before moving to a different city, this post resonates with exactly what i am looking for in my next community. In some ways, embracing these years of change before settling in is where my focus is.

Your words are spot on, Hank. Spiritually, Spring is a time of rebirth, renewal, and welcoming new growth. It sounds like you are embracing your “Spring” to the fullest. Congratulations!

On a lighter note, my wife says that a sure sign of spring for her is seeing me in our yard with my head thrown back and eyes cast upward, as I watch geese, sandhills, and swans fly overhead as they migrate along the St. Croix River. It’s a small pleasure in life that helps get me energized each spring. I just have to watch for tree branches and gopher holes!🤣

Hank, you’re a phoenix. Enduring what you have, though would certainly be purgative!

Ditching the TV was a terrific move!

This is just lovely. And the idea of starting over with just one chair sounds wonderful to me, as I feel like I am drowning in possessions.
