Lived in SE Alaska for 11 years... loved it, miss it, and go back every year. The mind seems to find a measure of peace when the body is pushed to the point of pain. Wish you well-ness!
How fulfilling and soul cleansing, doing something challenging while enjoying the Alaskan wilderness. We really miss the fish that we caught while in Kodiak while on vacation in It has been many years, but we still reminisce on how good it was and the time spent catching it. We are looking forward to ordering fish from the link you provided earlier.
Hank, your writing--your WORDS are a joy. You bring the reader on deck, and into the engine of your mind. Whatever you are writing about ( chewing a blade of sweet grass-?) your words make it us who is doing it. As a burgeoning penner of my own experiences, I appreciate your making the writing itself look easy. Looking forward to the new horizons...
I enjoyed your Alaskan Coho pressure bleed video. I usually eat salmon once or twice a week and I love Lake Michigan coho (I live in Milwaukee). I will be up in Remer MN Oct 3-7 at Pineridge Grouse Camp. Hope to visit with you there--maybe you can get Tyson to ship some of those Alaskan coho down to Remer to feast on between avian dinners of ruffed grouse and woodcock! Gary Krukar
Thanks for sharing this. When you get back to Stillwater/Hudson area, hit me up. I have beloved fam & friends who would love to interact with you. Myself included but I have to drive up from St. Louis:)
Heeding the Siren Song of Salmon
Funny how things in life ground us.
Physical work is one of the steady muses of writers. I hope it heals whatever ails you. Enjoy it
