I plan to ask questions and never manage to get to it. Regardless, the questions asked by others and the replies are always enlightening. Thank you. Wish I had hen of the woods here but sadly not.

Re: Pears -- don't know how many is "a lot", but "Perry" is always good. It's the Pear version of Hard Cider.

Thank you for answering my question! I love making hot sauces, so I’ll definitely give your recipe a try, and then dehydrate any leftover peppers.

I too have taken the path of upland hunting without a dog after having one for 35 years for the same reason you have, traveling so much is not fair to the dog. However there are so many times I wish I could have a dog for a companion in a solo hunt. On another note, I hope you might think about bringing a culinary hunt out west sometime! Or even to the Dakotas.

I have a duck hunt in Montana in November. But that sold out fast.

Interestingly ChefSteps covers how to replicate central-Texas-style brisket on a charcoal grill https://youtu.be/ykrQ3DCHqeA?si=r5wv2GoHRP3QsDJd

Very detailed and complete

My favorite way to preserve lots of pears:

I did this last year with the bumper crop from my pear tree and it was INCREDIBLE drizzled over grilled pork chops.

This is a super new feature! Like Dr. Apthorpe mentioned - the diversity of questions/topics is great! I hope you're finding this to be as enjoyable (i.e. not a time suck!) as your audience! Thank you!

Great read. I love the diversity of the questions being asked. Very interesting and informative. The next 200 lb + buck I shoot I will cook the hangers and let you know how they are. WNY has big corn fed deer. Cheers

re: big life changes, I just wanted to say, the first time I met you at a book signing dinner, I was so impressed with how down to earth you were. No pretentiousness, just an every day guy and I liked you instantly. This past year has been rough for a lot of folks and being a part of To The Bone, and sharing in your life changing journey, has only made me like and appreciate you even more for being willing to share that journey in a very human way! Not to be sexist, but especially for a man, I know many of the men in my life were brought up to never show weakness, never show when you are struggling, etc. I think as a public figure, it has been very beneficial to see Hank Shaw, a man's man, hunter, angler, gardener, cook - is a real man with feelings, emotions, insecurities, and big life changes and he maneuvers them with the same grace he does when hunting and cooking! Thank you for being so real and down to earth Hank!
