I recently made the 1,977-mile trek from the King Ranch in south Texas, back to my home near Folsom, California, in 28 hours of driving over two days. I felt weak afterwards.

Not because of the grueling two days, but because in December 2020 I’d made the 2,023-mile journey from even further south in Texas back home in less than 28 hours, non-stop.

To some of you reading this, road trips of this nature are old hat. But to most, this is not the sort of thing normal people do. At least that’s been the reaction I’ve gotten over the years to my many, many 1,000-mile days.

Ride with me a bit and I’ll show you how, and more importantly why I do what I do.
